WELCOME TO WINRAE DORPERS

Winrae Dorper Stud was established in 1999 at 'Winrae' Station Bourke, NSW Australia. It is a family owned business of Brian and Kris Pagett and their son, Nick, and wife Mel Pagett and their 4 children.

The stud was started with 6 imported embryos from Tien Jordaan to become a flock of approximately 350 fullblood Dorper ewes today. Winrae is committed to breeding the Dorper to the International Breed Standards and producing hardy, well muscled, top quality rams and feminine, fertile ewes.

Winrae Dorpers is based at  'Winrae', a 25,000 acre sheep station 125kms North of Bourke, NSW.

The Pagett family have been associated with sheep breeding for more than half a century. Following experimentation with breeds such as Dorset, White Suffolk, Border Leicester and Damaras we selected Dorpers as they are the only breed that will  finish naturally on this country.

The Pagett family claim to be the first to introduce Dorpers to NSW Western Division country and the breed's hardiness, wool shedding and mothering ability has led to a far broader uptake across the region in the years since.
